MEET OUR DISTRICT
SUPERINTENDENT
Rev. Greg Mason has been our District Superintendent since early 2006 and we have seen many great things happen that proves that he and Elaine are certainly God's choice as DS & wife for our district.
Greg is a graduate of Mt. Vernon
Nazarene College
(now University) with a degree in Business Administration. He
has also studied at Clark State University
, Nazarene Bible
College
, and has
taken graduate courses at Trevecca Nazarene College
.
He has pastored churches in Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Illinois. He has led in the planting of two churches, most recently the Bridge Way Community Church of the Nazarene in Morton, Illinois.
Rev. Mason has served in a number of
district and denominational positions, including District Advisory Boards on the
Kentucky
and Northwestern Illinois
districts and as vice-chairman of both
boards. He has served as Zone Facilitator, Chairman of the Finance Committee,
and Sunday School Ministries Chairman in Kentucky and Illinois and District NYI
President in Wisconsin
. He recently served on the Olivet Nazarene University
Board of Trustees and as NewStart/ReStart/ReFocus Chairman for the Northwestern
Illinois District. He was on the PALCON 2004 planning committee and was a
seminar speaker at the 2005 General NMI Convention.
Greg has been a community leader and a
frequent speaker at retreats, conferences, and revivals. He serves as a
nationally certified coach with New Church Specialties
.
Greg and his wife, Elaine, have been married for over 30 years. They have 3 children: Chad - 27; Ryan - 24 who is married to Jyl by whom the Masons have been blessed with 2 grandchildren (Leah and Lane); and Angela - 21, a student at Olivet Nazarene University. Each of the children is active in the local church.
In addition to education and experience qualifications, our new district superintendent is an avid sports fan (don't ask him who his team is!), reader, and enjoys playing golf. Elaine loves kids and caring for them. She likes needlepoint, crafts, home decorating, cooking and baking. The district superintendent adds, "And she likes me."
We are thrilled to have the Masons as our District Supt. & wife - we know that God has great things in store for us with them as our leaders! They have been a huge blessing so far and we know that God will continue to use them mightily this coming year.
